Flaunt Face: Clinique High Impact Mascara

Left eye: No Mascara, Right eye: Clinique High Impact Mascara (click to enlarge)

I get a lot of compliments on my lashes and there are even times when people ask if they're fake. To be quite honest my lashes aren't super long nor are they short however, they do appear longer with one of my favorite beauty products ever....Clinique's High Impact Mascara. Thanks to my sis Laura, I've been wearing it ever since and can't leave the house without it! I've used mulitple brands from high to low-end and although this tube of tar is $14 it's sooooo worth it. I highly recommend this product so make sure to buy it & try it for yourself to achieve those fantasy lashes!! View the pics and see for yourself :)

Flaunt Famous Gal: Michelle Stafford of Young & The Restless

Yesterday was the 36th annual Daytime Emmy-Awards here in Los Angeles. I went to the Young & The Restless after party and had an amazing time. There was food, desserts, tasty mojitos and of course beautiful people including the entire cast. Amongst the Young & The Restless crowd of course, was popular character Phyllis, played by Michelle Stafford. She mentioned how the original dress she wore to the awards had a train that was too long so she did a quick change before the event. She looked stunning not to mention her personality was filled with great positivity. This pic was taking after chatting with the Emmy-award winning actress, who is wearing Dolce & Gabbana, her own gold strappy heels, and eye-catching floral diamonds.

Flaunt Film: No Doubt "Running"

This is such a beautiful song done by one of my favorite artists No Doubt. Listen to the words carefully and you'll see why it's perfect for any hopeless romantic like myself :) I even want Gwen to sing this at my wedding!!! Gwen also looks stunning in every shot, especially on the beach w/ her fellow band members. Her look is simple yet classic and she stands out without any effort. Gotta love that Gwen!!

To get Gwen's Look: Saahara Sandels-Steve Madden, Maxi Dress-Paul & Joe Pierre Cardin for Paul & Joe, Belt-Alexander McQueen

To accomplish Gwen's look go for a more modern feel with a maxi dress. To incorporate that pop of red color from Gwen's lipstick, a red belt for the waist is perfect and will also reveal your flattering silhouette. To finish the look wear simple sandals, preferably a neutral tone so that there isn't too much print and color all in one outfit. Sandals are also great for the beach & perfect for "Running" :)

Flaunt Fun Virgo Birthdays!!

Yesterday I celebrated my 23rd Birthday Day....yeaaaahh! I also celebrated with one of my friends Brittani whose birthday is a day before mine. We had dinner at P.F Changs then went to Kiss N' Grind (the name has nothing to do with the atmosphere fyi lol) where Vikter Duplaix was spinning. We also happened to bump into Eric Benet who wished us a Happy BDay too. Not to mention the weather was amazing!!

Then the following day I had fun at Six Flags with my S.O and a few friends. So far it's been a great bday week & heeey to all my fellow VIRGOS!!!

Flaunt Farewell to Fashion Icon: Aaliyah (1979-2001)

One of my favorite looks from one of my favorite icons: R.I.P Aaliyah

Hey flaunt followers it's been quite sometime since I've posted so I'm sorry for the slight hiatus. Anyway, today is the anniversary of Aaliyah's passing. I don't have to say much as to how great of a talented artist she was, but I personally will remember her for her flawless fashions. She could pull off just about anything that would look a bit... ummm not too cute on others. Aaliyah will truly be missed & always remembered.

To achieve Aaliyah's timeless look: Antik Batik gold top, Free People Eva Chain belt, & Kova & T latex leggings

Flaunt Film: Ciara "WORK"

Alright-y, so this video has been out for quite some time however it's fairly new and SUPER hot!! Ciara is really doing what she does best just like she did in the beginning. I miss this entertaining aspect of music in general....seriously I really do. Not to mention her ensembles are stunning and work very well with the impressive scenery. She's almost like our modern day Janet and i luv it, plus personally this video does a couple things for me:

a. Makes me feel bad but hype to want to "work"...workout that is, after seeing her intense body!
b. Learn the main dance moves, so that I'm ready to bust-a-move at the club or at any given moment! lol
c. Go buy a suuuuupppper long pony'll see why!

Anyway Ciara does the damn thing and she's definitely getting her flaunt on!!!

Flaunt What is She Wearing?: Rihanna in Rag & Bone

Rihanna in a Rag & Bone Sheath Dress Spring 2009 paired with Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain ankle fringe flats

It's no surprise that Rihanna looks amazing in just about everything, am I wrong?! So she does it again spotted in New York wearing a Rag & Bone Spring 2009 asymmetrical georgette sheath dress, with solid black leather and yellow floral print panels. I love how Rag & Bone incorporates girlie and edgy elements in a chic and unique way. I'm not much of a flats kinda gal and although this dress may call for some heels, Rihanna pairs it up with these adorable black suede Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain ankle fringe flats. Im really diggin' her look and all I can say is, that's right flaunt it!

Flaunt Fierce Design: Boxing Kitten

Boxing Kitten is one of my favorite lines out right now & I love every detail, from the bold West African Ankara prints to the amazing color combinations. There is definitely vintage inspiration behind each piece, along with the ethic influence on each print & pattern. Maya Lake, the chic designer behind Boxing Kitten defines it as having an "ethnic rock-ability". So for the girl who can't get enough vintage, doesn't mind a modern twist & a likeness of her roots, this is the line to own or get acquainted with.

Flaunt Follicles: "Good Hair"

Part#1 The reason I decided to make this post was because I have been lacking on the maintenance of my own hair and need to get it back to health. I have natural hair meaning there is no chemical processing whatsoever. I will write more posts regarding my hair which will be a continuation of my "Healthly Hair Journey" to restore, encourage & dedicate full energy to get the healthy hair I already had. I encourage those who aren't natural to go natural because nothing's better than knowing your own crown & glory by embracing each strain. Below are pics of my hair after growing out the relaxer (full & healthy), and how it currently looks (slightly damaged). As I share this journey, I will include my hair regimens, styling techniques, products & more!

This was my hair at it's healthiest about 1 yr ago w/ no relaxer or weave just flat ironed & 100% mine.
About 9 months ago still full & healthy. It's current state NOW, slightly damaged.

Part#2 There has also been years and years of talk on what it means to have "good hair" amongst the black community. The only thing I can do is relate this issue to my own experiences. In my opinion "good hair"=healthy hair. So with that said it really doesn't matter what your hair looks like or the texture of your hair. I believe any & everyone has "good hair" as long as it exist & it's healthy. This clip is from Chris Rock's movie "Good Hair". It highlights the misconceptions of what it means to have "good hair" from several black women, the hair industry, and others opinions on the issue. He addresses these topics in a comical yet truthful way so I'm curious as to how it will turn out. I can only hope woman of Color can realize the depth of our hair issues, overcome them, embrace our own hair, learn how to properly care for it, and make this issue less of an issue. Now with all this hair talk I wonder how I'll wear my hair to the movie! lol.

Flaunt Fabulous FInds: Secret Shoe Store!

zebra colored platforms...none in my size & super cute nude patented leather wedges...again not in my size :(

i walked away w/ 3 pairs of shoes!! (lately being smart about my spending, but wanted to buy tons more!)

Ok today I tripped out because my friend introduced me to a store where all the shoes are under $15. Yes I repeat ALLLLL the shoes are under $15! Now the quality of the shoes wern't anything amazing, however you can't beat shoes under $15 especially when majority of the shoes would typically start at about $25+ elsewhere. There was so much going on and if you wanted a specific shoe in your size it was every girl for themselves as shoes were selling left & right! Here are a few pics of a few pairs that i got & couldn't get! Aaahhh so excited!!!!
